Θιβετιανοί μοναχοί, οι οποίοι ζουν στο Νεπάλ, συμμετέχουν σε μια τελετουργική προσευχή μπροστά στο ναό ''Boudhanath Stupa'' στο Κατμαντού (Kathmandu). Οι εξόριστοι θιβετιανοί μοναχοί εόρτασαν το "Lhabab Duechen", την κάθοδο του Βούδα στη Γη.

Η φωτογραφία αυτή φέρνει πολλές αναμνήσεις, με γυρίζει πίσω στον Απρίλιο του 1999 και στην επίσκεψή μου στο ναό.

Το Boudhanath Stupa (ή Bodnath Stupa) είναι η μεγαλύτερη stupa στο Νεπάλ και ο ιερότερος θιβετιανός βουδιστικός ναός έξω από το Θιβέτ. Χτίστηκε πιθανώς τον 14ο αιώνα, είναι το κέντρο του θιβετιανού πολιτισμού στο Κατμαντού και πλούσιο σε βουδιστικούς συμβολισμούς.

Tibetan monks living in Nepal, take part in a prayer ceremony in front of the ''Boudhanath Stupa'' in Kathmandu. Tibetan exiles are celebrating "Lhabab Duechen" to commemorate Buddha's descent on earth.

This image brings a lot of memories, turns me back in April of 1999 and in my visit in the temple above.

Boudhanath Stupa (or Bodnath Stupa) is the largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet.  It was probably built in the 14th century, is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.
